What’s Happening?
In a massive late-night news drop, FOX Sports’ Bob broke the news that, for the first time ever, the Daytona 500 will be broadcast on FOX Sports in 4k Ultra. This is a master technical upgrade that is believed to dazzle fans, though the reaction on Pockrass’ post was good to mixed. Many fans voiced concerns about other aspects of FOX’s coverage of NASCAR that have been hotly debated topics in the last several years. That said, the new production comes with new graphics that have been fairly well-received.

You Need to Know:
- Previously, NASCAR races on FOX’s Sports Networks were broadcast in high depth at HD1080p/720p. The upgrade is intended to give the race a more cinematic feel.
- In 2025, NASCAR started a new media rights deal, which saw the addition of Amazon Sports. Amazon was generally viewed to elevate the idea of what a NASCAR race production can be. This could be FOX’s response to the criticisms they’ve received the last several years
