What’s Happening?

NASCAR veteran Matt DiBenedetto and Viking Motorsports have parted ways, effective immediately. Connor Mosack will finish out the season as the driver of the No. 99 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

These moves come with three races left in the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. In their first year of operation as an independent team, Viking Motorsports and DiBenedetto sat 22nd in points with one top-five and one top ten.

This marks yet another incomplete season for the 33-year-old, who has only completed one full-time effort since losing his NASCAR Cup Series ride at Wood Brothers Racing after the 2021 season.

In 2023, DiBenedetto raced in 20 races for Rackley WAR Racing in the Craftsman Truck Series before being removed from the lineup with three races left. In 2024, he competed in 28 NASCAR Xfinity Series races with RSS Racing.

In contrast, Mosack is wrapping up his first full-time season of NASCAR National Series competition with McAnally–Hilgemann Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

The 26-year-old currently sits 14th in points with four top-ten finishes. He has entered Xfinity Series races since 2022, including three this year, with his most recent finish being fifth in JR Motorsports’ No. 9 at the Charlotte ROVAL.

As of Press time, Viking Motorsports has yet to announce its plans for 2026.
