What’s Happening?

Months after reports first claimed that Xfinity would no longer sponsor NASCAR’s second-tier series, the Xfinity Series, a new report claims that O’Reilly Auto Parts will take over the sponsorship in 2026.

In February, reports surfaced that Xfinity will end its title sponsorship of the NASCAR Xfinity Series at the conclusion of the 2025 season. Now, Adam Stern of Sports Business Journal reports that O’Reilly Auto Parts, the auto parts and accessories retailer, will fill that role in 2026.

Though they are ending their title sponsorship of NASCAR’s secondary series, they will remain in the sport as a sponsor of NASCAR’s Xfinity Fastest Lap Bonus Point and their premier partnership with the sport.

With rumors of Xfinity’s imminent departure, fans debated earlier this season whether the series should move to the pre-partner format the Cup Series uses. This format gave the Cup Series a general name while promoting several key sponsors, or premier partners, at a time, though this appears to be off the table for the series now.

When Xfinity’s time ends, it will be the fourth change in title sponsorship for the three NASCAR National Series since 2020.

In 2020, the NASCAR Cup Series, the sport’s top division, switched from the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series to just the Cup Series. In 2021, the Gander Outdoors Truck Series switched back to the Camping World Truck Series, then back to the Craftsman Truck Series in 2023.

If O’Reilly becomes the new title sponsor of the series, it will be the fourth in its modern era, which began in 1982. Budweiser sponsored the series in 1982 and 1983, with Busch Beer taking over from 1984 to 2007. Insurance provider Nationwide followed from 2008 to 2014, with Xfinity picking up the deal in 2015.
