What’s Happening?

Following the second day of the 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports antitrust lawsuit with NASCAR, 23XI co-owner Denny Hamlin posted a late-night message to fans on X.

  • In his post on X, Hamlin, who was posting despite the wishes of his legal team, thanked fans for their support. With the three-time Daytona 500 champion saying, “I love you guys and I will not stop fighting for you and what is right.”
  • The fan reaction to this post was rather positive, with fans responding with even more support. Users like @PresidentRaikou told Hamiln, “You might not have won the cup championship, but you got the people’s championship DH!”
  • The teams filed their lawsuit against NASCAR on October 2, 2024, following months of deliberation on NASCAR’s 2025 Charter Agreement. The trial kicked off Monday, with Hamlin taking the witness stand that afternoon and Tuesday morning.
  • Though Hamlin, his team, and FRM are not necessarily fighting directly for the fans, a portion of NASCAR’s fanbase has taken the side of 23XI and FRM. This support is due in part to either their fandom of the teams or Hamlin, or some who see reflections of their own transgressions with NASCAR’s leadership in the lawsuit.
