What’s Happening?
Kaulig Racing and Daniel Dye are teaming up for the 2025 Xfinity Series season. Today, the team and future driver of the No. 10 hosted a press conference at Daytona International Speedway to announce the signing.
- Daniel Dye runs full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for McNally Hilgemann Racing, driving the No. 43. Dye had a tough 2023 with GMS Racing, but in his first season with MHR, Dye has impressed, making the playoffs.
- Kaulig and Dye have already raced together in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, with Daniel racing the part-time No. 10 for the team. Two top-tens in seven races may not be impressive, but Dye has proven in the Truck Series that he can race well when given time to adjust.
- Previously, we predicted that Dye was a lock for a spot at Kaulig. Specifically, after the announcement that A.J. Allmendinger would return to the Cup Series, however, that was for the No. 16 rather than the No. 10.
- This brings to mind the possibility of a second open car at Kaulig, as the No. 16 has traditionally been a full-time entry for Kaulig. With the rumor that Shane Van Gisbergen would be Trackhouse Racing’s third full-time Cup Series entry in 2025, perhaps another spot is open for a driver like Christian Eckes or Nick Sanchez.
In a statement put out by the team, team president Chris Rice said:
“Daniel has done a really great job for our team this season. He is invested in our program and putting in the time and effort to keep getting better. I’ve been able to spend a lot of time with him throughout the season, and we’re looking forward to having him with us full-time in 2025.” — Chris Rice
