What’s Happening?
In a recent interview, Trackhouse Racing prospect Connor Zilisch confirmed that there are no plans for him to race in a second NASCAR Cup Series race in 2025. However, the 18-year-old did not entirely rule out racing again this season.

- In an interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Zilisch said, “We haven’t really talked about it at this point, you know. Obviously, it takes a lot of money, and it’s a fourth car, you know, that Trackhouse doesn’t run very often.”
- On Jan. 23, Trackhouse Racing announced that Zilisch would make his Cup Series debut at Circuit of the Americas. Though this was a major stepping stone in Zilisch’s young career, most expected it to be a one-race deal for 2025.
- Though his comments do not squash hopes of a second Cup date in 2025, the Trackhouse Racing prospect seems focused on his Xfinity Series efforts this season. As part of his development, Zilisch is pursuing Rookie of the Year honors in the Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports.
- In this interview, Zilisch did clarify that if he were to get a second start with Trackhouse this season, he would prefer to move on from road courses as he feels, “I’d probably want to shift away from, you know, trying to go to my forte and my bread and butter.”
- Zilisch made his Cup Series debut this past Sunday with Trackhouse Racing in the team’s No. 87. Though he had a solid run, the driver crashed out of the race at the start of the third stage.
