Baseball Hall of Famer Chipper Jones called out NASCAR Champion Joey Logano after Logano tore into his teammate and eventual race winner Austin Cindric Sunday afternoon at Talladega.
Congrats to @AustinCindric on his @TALLADEGA win. Good teammates are hard to come by, Boss! Remember that one of urs MFed u on national tv, when in all actuality, u did everything possible to keep from wrecking him. Hate to be #dueces in the ‘team’ meeting on Monday. Some people…

Jones, who retired from Baseball in 2012, posted his thoughts after Sunday’s race on X. The former Braves third baseman congratulated Austin Cindric on his win, which snapped an over 30-game losing streak. However, Jones also called out mid-race comments from Cindric’s Team Penske teammate, Joey Logano, in this post.
The phrase, “MFed u on national TV,” is in reference to Logano’s post-stage two radio outburst targeted at his teammate for, as Logano saw it, allowing Bubba Wallace to win the stage. During his outburst, Logano said to his team, “Way to go Austin, way to go, you dumb fuck! Way to fucking go. What a stupid shit. You just gave it to him. Gave a Toyota a stage win. Nice job.”
These comments went viral, with many laughing at the reigning Cup Series Champions’ anger. However, Jones, a former champion in his own right, took issue with the poor sportsmanship that Logano showed his teammate. For Jones, he felt that Logano was too self-centered, something some fans took issue with.
Jones went on to post in response to a fan, “He knows he’s mic’ed up. And he can’t say whatever he wants. Nobody can without consequences.” The Baseball Hall of Famer also expressed his frustration with Logano’s post-race interview and was angry that the three-time champion did not congratulate his teammate.
Couldn’t even congratulate @AustinCindric in the post race! #teamplayer At least he mentioned being selfish in the interview. Credit! https://t.co/g7vmqxJryB

The comments from the former Atlanta Braves slugger reached not only NASCAR fans but also industry members. NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr replied, “Holy shit Chipper.” After saying, “Sometimes karma is glorious” in his original post, Jones, of course, relished Logano’s disqualification, stating, “My day just keeps getting better!”
