What’s Happening?

Justin Haley will return to Kaulig Racing’s NASCAR Xfinity Series program, driving the team’s No. 11 entry for what is, at press time, a one-off start at Daytona on Aug. 9.

  • Haley, who races full-time for Spire Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series, cut his teeth in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with Kaulig before ascending to full-time Cup Series action with the team in 2022. During their time together, Haley piloted the then-flagship No. 11 to four wins and three straight playoff appearances.
  • This will be Haley’s first start with the team since 2023 and his first start in the No. 11 since 2021. He is filling in for Josh Williams, who Kauilg parted ways with following a lackluster season and a half with the team. Haley is part of a rotating door of drivers who will pilot the car throughout the latter half of the season.
  • Daytona and Haley seem like obvious choices for Kaulig, who dominated the superspeedways in the Xfinity Series in the early 2020s. All five of Haley’s Xfinity Series wins came on superspeedways, two at Daytona. His lone Cup Series win with Spire Motorsports in 2019 was also at the 2.5-mile superspeedway.
  • This past weekend at Iowa Speedway, Haley’s Cup Series teammate Carson Hocevar piloted the No. 11 to a sixth-place finish. His other teammate, Michael McDowell, will drive the No. 11 at Watkins Glen this weekend, and more driver announcements are on the way.
