What’s Happening?

A YouTube video shot at Stellantis Headquarters in Michigan may have leaked a low-quality, yet first look at Ram’s body style for their upcoming return to NASCAR.

  • The now-deleted video from the YouTube channel Auto Buyers Guide | Alex on Autos was meant to show off the new 2026 Ram 1500 HEMI. However, keen-eyed viewers noticed what looked to be a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Truck in the background.
  • The suspected vehicle makes a few quick appearances; however, it is clear that the truck is at least a mock attempt at the Truck Series body style. It includes the door number 25 and the current CRAFTSMAN windshield banner used in the Truck Series.
  • Stellanttis, Ram, and Dodge have yet to confirm their return to NASCAR. But if they do so, the Truck Series is the easiest first step as it utilizes a spec Ilmor engine. NASCAR is racing in Mopar’s backyard this weekend, and the RAM Trucks X account also teased a major announcement for this Sunday.
  • Rumors have floated around the NASCAR world since February, suggesting the brand could return to NASCAR in the Truck Series in 2026. Recently, rumors have even tagged Garrett Mitchell, also known as Cleetus McFarland, as a potential driver.
