What’s Happening?
A major silly season question finally has an answer: Spire Motorsports and Rev Racing are splitting up ahead of the 2025 season. This report follows several weeks of confusing news and rumors surrounding Rev.
- According to Joseph Srigley of TobyChristie.com, Spire Motorsports decided to end its relationship after a successful season for the two. With their relationship with Spire’s truck program in 2024, Rev won three races with driver Nick Sanchez in the No. 2.
- Rumors of trouble in paradise began last week when a rumor circulated that Rev Racing ARCA driver Andrés Pérez will race for Spire in the Truck Series next year rather than Rev. Following this post, Reaume Brothers Racing announced they had purchased the No. 2 for use in the 2025 season.
- According to its website, Rev considers itself “the competition arm of NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity Program” and has a long history in the ARCA Menards Series. They are returning to ARCA this season with driver Lavar Scott. However, 2024 ARCA Champion Pérez is expected to go Truck Series racing.
This news seems to be the end of Rev’s Truck Series program; however, most thought that came last year when their original partner, Kyle Busch Motorsports, closed. Though Spire, who purchased KBM, took on their support, KBM sued Rev for outstanding money owed to the team.
The team had an open ride entering this offseason, with Sanchez heading to Big Machine Racing and the Xfinity Series. However, this is another abrupt end to a relationship for Rev.
