Fox’s NASCAR coverage has fallen out of favor with the fanbase in recent years. What in the world happened, and why has Fox’s NASCAR coverage fallen off? Our very own John Rizzo takes a look at it in our most recent YouTube video.

  • One major change-up in Fox’s NASCAR coverage has been the commentators. From Mike Joy, Larry McReynolds, and Darrell Waltrip to the modern booth of Mike Joy and Clint Bowyer. What is it that changed, and how did it work out?
  • NBC beats Fox in one major category, taking the sport seriously. How does NBC make that work where Fox tends to struggle? Maybe it’s the cartoon characters.
  • What about the camera work? Fox has made some snafus with their camera work in recent years as well, and it has come across in the booth before.
  • Some issues with Fox’s coverage are not the fault of those working on NASCAR on Fox, but it’s an issue of the higher-ups at Fox that cannot be totally fixed.

NASCAR and Fox seem they will re-up for the next TV contract. Will any of these improvements find their way into the Fox broadcast soon?
