- Fans are always asking for updates on Frankie Muniz’s 2024 plans. He is one of the most interesting stories in NASCAR today.
The Latest Update
Frankie Muniz piqued the interest of many in December by changing his Instagram Bio. The caption read, “2024 NASCAR plans are being announced soon”. Well, his Instagram bio has now changed, and it no longer has anything to do with NASCAR, but, he still has a NASCAR lanyard on in his profile picture.
Muniz has otherwise been silent since denying a report at Phoenix that he had signed with RSS Racing for the 2024 season. Given the support Ford gave him throughout the 2023 season, Ford teams are the most likely destinations for 2024.
What’s The Hold-Up?
If Muniz plans to race part-time in 2024, that may be the reason for no announcement. Teams with part-time drivers tend to trickle out driver announcements here and there.
There are a few Ford teams Muniz could partner up with part-time. RSS Racing is putting multiple drivers in the #38 car in 2024, so, Muniz may race a few times for the team that season. However, the Phoenix incident calls that into question. ThorSport also has a part-time 66 truck, but there will probably not be many races. SS Greenlight has plenty of open races for 2024, so, that is an option.
As far as full-time goes, his best bet may be AM Racing in the Xfinity Series #25 car. The team mentioned their goal is to field a second car in 2024, but, that is not a guarantee about a month from the season starting. Is it possible Muniz was going to race in that second car, but, things changed last minute? Nothing has been reported on it officially, but, it’s not impossible.
Regardless, there are openings there for Muniz to find a Ford ride in 2024. The situation is not exactly dire, but, it isn’t ideal either. He has expressed multiple times that he hopes to move up in 2024, and the opportunities are there.
However, it is possible that his 2024 plans are not what he originally thought. We do not know yet.
As time goes on, Muniz’s potential 2024 plans become more and more murky. Will he be left out, or is he waiting on something?
