What’s Happening?
Kyle Busch and Spire Motorsports announced this week that they will partner for five races in the 2025 Craftsman Truck Series. Most fans expected this to happen as Busch has a chance to break additional records in the Truck Series. But what records is he still pursuing?
Kyle Busch Reveals His Truck Series Schedule
What’s Happening? Kyle Busch has a chance to walk away with more NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series records this season. Thursday, Spire…
Busch’s Current Honors:
Busch has already set numerous records in all three NASCAR National Series. One of those applicable to the Truck Series includes the record for All-Time Combined NASCAR National Series Wins. Busch currently has 231, 31 more than second-place Richard Petty.
Of those 231 wins, 66 came in the Craftsman Truck Series. This is the series record; Busch has 15 more wins in the Truck Series than second-place Ron Hornaday Jr. The two are in their own class, as third place Mike Skinner and Jack Sprague have just 28.
Busch also has a record almost untouched by any other driver, as he has won a Truck Series race in every season from 2013 to 2024. However, the closest threat to Busch is three drivers tied with wins in three consecutive series.
All-Time Combined NASCAR National Series Starts
The first record Busch is pursuing is the Record for Combined NASCAR National Series Starts. Busch currently sits second, with 1,257 combined starts, second to Kevin Harvick, who retired with 1,299 starts.
Busch trails Harvick only in one series, however, as Harvick made his Cup Series debut roughly two seasons prior to Busch. Harvick has 826 career Cup Series starts, and Busch has 714.
If Busch wants to break this record, it likely will not happen this season. If he makes all of his scheduled 41 starts in the NASCAR National Series, Busch will be one short of Harvick. But if Busch makes one Xfinity Series start like he did last year, he could at least tie Harvick this season.
All-Time Top Fives
Fun fact: When Matt Crafton and his ThorSport Racing No. 88 take the green flag tomorrow night, they’ll be the ONLY driver-team combo from 2002’s NASCAR Dirt to Daytona still racing together! pic.twitter.com/IOgMwuAHPC

Should he keep up the pace, Busch has a chance to break all-time top fives in the coming seasons. Busch, who has 118 career Truck Series top-fives, sits fourth, 40 behind all-time leader Ron Hornaday Jr’s 158.
Busch is in a waste lane when it comes to passing other drivers in this stat; however, third-place Matt Crafton, who is still an active driver, has 135, meaning Busch will absolutely stay in place for this season.
All-Time Top Tens
Busch can make up a spot in the Series all-time top tens list. If Busch gets a top-ten in all five of his Truck Series starts, Busch, who currently sits eighth all-time with 141, can surpass Mike Skinner who has 144.
However, breaking this one seems unlikely for KFB, as Matt Crafton still holds the record at 328. Though Busch has expressed interest in racing full-time in the Truck Series down the line, this massive margin seems unlikely at his current age.
All-Time Poles
Another one that Busch has a chance to break in the long term is the Series record for all-time pole awards. Busch currently sits fourth with 23 career Truck Series pole wins. Of course, the all-time leader is Mike Skinner, who had 50 throughout his career.
While 27 poles this season is impossible for Busch, if he races in the series late into his racing career, there is a slim yet possible chance he could break the record.
Busch’s next target is third-place Ron Hornaday Jr., who has 27 career pole awards. He is unlikely to do this year; however, as the most dominant driver to never race full-time in the series, there’s no telling what Busch will do this year.
