What’s Happening?

Brennan Poole, a long-time staple of the NASCAR Xfinity Series, will make his first NASCAR Cup Series start since 2023 this weekend with NY Racing Team.

  • The last time Poole raced in the Cup Series was on a part-time basis for Rick Ware Racing in 2023, where he finished no better than 28th in seven starts. Since then, Poole, who has not raced in the Cup Series full-time since 2020, has turned his focus to the Xfinity Series.
  • This season is Poole’s third consecutive year racing full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Through 15 races, Poole has piloted his Alpha Prime Racing No. 44 to two top-fives and two top-tens, alongside an improved 19.7 average finish. The team currently sits 17th in points in front of notable drivers like Joe Gibbs Racing’s William Sawalich.
  • Poole joins J.J. Yeley and Derek Kraus behind the wheel of NY Racing’s No. 44 this season. In just six starts, the car has finished no better than 33rd. In the team’s four seasons, the car has a best finish of 20th, doing so twice, with Greg Biffle and Yeley behind the wheel.
  • Poole has two career Cup Series starts and four career Xfinity Series starts at Pocono. His best Cup Series finish of 27th came with Rick Ware Racing in the second Pocono race of 2020, and his best Xfinity Series outing at the Tricky Triangle was 12th with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2016.
  • Poole is also known as a great personality in the Xfinity Series, extending his reach of the track as a co-host of the TOXIC WASTE Sour Power Hour podcast with Out of the Groove’s Eric Estepp.
