What’s Happening?
After a lengthy rain delay that saw the race pushed back to a start time after 11 PM ET, it looked as though early on that Layne Riggs was going to pick up where he left off after his nail-biting win at Charlotte last week. From the drop of the green flag, he appeared to be the class of the field, leading all 95 laps of the first two stages. However, the complexion of the race changed after the pit stops following the conclusion of the second stage. This cost Layne Riggs the lead and put him back in traffic as new blood took to the front to try to hold him off. After a restart, Ross Chastain rocketed out to the lead but, once defending winner Rajah Caruth, driving the No. 7 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet that Kyle Busch was supposed to drive in this race started to creep into the picture, Chastain simply had nothing for the No. 7. Rajah Caruth took the race lead in convincing fashion and started pulling away from the rest of the leaders.
Like his Cup Spire teammate Daniel Suarez last week, Rajah was able to expertly defend the race lead ahead of Chastain and Kaden Honeycutt. Though it appeared like Honeycutt may have something for the No. 7, so long as he could get by the widest truck in the field, Ross Chastain, the No. 11 had yet another freak accident that took them out of contention. Similarly to Corey Heim’s issues in that truck last year, Kaden Honeycutt lost power, indicating battery issues.
We got another series of cautions which breathed some life into Layne Riggs’ race. As the laps wound down, Rajah Caruth led with Chandler Smith closely behind him. Then, a little farther back in a shrinking gap, Layne Riggs was chewing them up and spitting them out. With two laps to go, he was there but Rajah Caruth was going to make him earn it. On the final lap, Riggs, racing hard but clean with Caruth and Smith, passed Rajah Caruth for the race lead as he goes back-to-back in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series after his emotional win last week at Charlotte. This marks his third win of his 2026 campaign and the 8th series win of his career.

Race Report:
- After a lengthy rain delay that stretched on-track activities out into the late-night hours of Friday night, north of Midnight, engines for the Allegiance 200 at Nashville Superspeedway were fired with the green flag scheduled to be flown at 10:50 PM, ET/9:50 PM PT. Last week’s winner, Layne Riggs started the race on the pole after qualifying was rained out. Kaden Honeycutt started alongside. Notable entries in the race were Jesse Love (No. 77 for Spire), Brandon Jones (No. 1 Tricon), William Sawalisch (No. 5 Tricon), Corey Lajoie (No. 10 Kaulig), Ross Chastain (No. 45, Niece), Rajah Caruth (No. 7 Spire), and Daniel Dye (No. 20 MHR).
- Layne Riggs asserted himself as the truck to beat in the opening stage as he went on to lead all 45 laps under green flag conditions. There were no incidents or cautions in the opening stage. This is an example of Layne Riggs picking up where he left off after his win one week ago at Charlotte. Notable drivers who also finished the opening stage in the top 10 were Jesse Love in the Spire No. 77. He held strong in the 3rd condition.
- The following drivers earned stage points in the opening stage: Layne Riggs (10), Kaden Honeycutt (9), Christian Eckes (7), Gio Ruggiero (6), Chandler Smith (5), Ben Rhodes (4), Tanner Gray (3), Jake Garcia (2), and Daniel Hemric (1).
- The second stage was littered with cautions as the field ran more laps under the yellow flag than they did under green. It started early in the stage when Tyler Reif wrecked on Lap 56 in a single-car incident. That was quickly followed in succession by RAM’s developmental driver Craig Ferguson spinning and hitting the outside wall in a single truck incident. Then, shortly thereafter on Lap 69, Tanner Gray and Jake Garcia got together in an incident that destroyed their machines. Additionally, Jesse Love received damage during that crash in his No. 77 Spire Chevy. He ended up going behind the wall.
- Due to the abundance of cautions, we got a series of wild restarts that gave Kaden Honeycutt a number of opportunities to snatch the lead away from Layne Riggs. Ultimately, however, the 34 remained head and shoulders above the rest of the field, going on to lead all 95 laps of the first two stages. In addition to Riggs, his teammate Chandler Smith started to creep into the conversation, finishing the stage in 3rd. This marks the third time Layne Riggs swept the stages in a Truck Series race,.
- Earning stage points in Stage 2 were: Layne Riggs (10), Kaden Honeycutt (9), Chandler Smith (8), Christian Eckes (7), Grant Enfinger (6), Ben Rhodes (5), Daniel Dye (4), Ty Majeski (3), and Daniel Hemric (2).
- Layne Riggs scores his 3rd win of 2026 and the 8th of his career. It’s also his 2nd win in a row after last week’s emotional win at Charlotte.
- Winner Layne Riggs clocks the Xfinity Fastest Lap at Nashville. As a result, he earned an additional bonus point to add to his maxed out daily total.
