ARCA Menards Series veteran Greg Van Alst and longtime partner CB Fabrication have paired with SS-GreenLight Racing for next weekend’s Pennzoil 250 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series is making a triumphant return to the iconic oval portion of the 2.5-mile speedway, a place that holds a special place in the hearts of local racing enthusiasts. The anticipation is at an all-time high as our very own Van Alst, a beloved local icon, is gearing up to make his Xfinity Series debut at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, his hometown track.
“I am beyond thrilled to be racing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway next weekend,” said Van Alst, his excitement palpable. “The opportunity to compete at such a historic venue on the track’s oval is a dream come true, and I am fully prepared to give it my all.”
Headquartered in Anderson, Ind., CB Fabricating offers a complete list of fabricating from design, laser cutting, CNC punching, forming, welding, powder coating and assembly.
“I am truly grateful to Chris Barkdull, the owner of my long-standing marketing partner, CB Fabricating, for his unwavering support and belief in me. His decision to be a part of this historic race is a testament to our strong partnership. We are both thrilled to be heading to the race track next weekend and are committed to delivering a successful race for SS-GreenLight Racing,” expressed Van Alst with heartfelt gratitude.
The 20th race of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season will be Van Alst’s third career Xfinity Series start and first since New Hampshire Motor Speedway last summer.
While the former Daytona ARCA winner’s first foray into the NASCAR Xfinity Series didn’t unfold as he had envisioned, it has only fueled his determination. He is now more confident than ever about his return to this fiercely competitive series and is set on delivering a strong finish for Bobby Dotter’s SS-GreenLight Racing team.
“I’ve heard so many good things about Bobby (Dotter) over the years and I’m excited to be racing for him,” Van Alst mentioned. “I’d also like to thank Patrick (Emerling), the team’s primary driver, for supporting this opportunity. With a lot of support in the area, I want to have a productive race and I feel like we have taken the steps to make that happen.”
In addition to CB Fabricating, Van Alst is bringing additional support to his first Xfinity Series start of the season.
Zaki Ali, Attorney at Law (Injury & Criminal Trial Attorney; 1-888-649-1-ALI), will leap from Van Alst’s ARCA program and join the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Indianapolis Motor Speedway as a major associate marketing partner on the team’s No. 07 Chevrolet Camaro.
Additionally, Norton Transport, Precision Leak Detection and Top Choice Fence will serve as associate partners for the 100-lap race.
“I’m so grateful to all those who have joined us for Indianapolis,” said Van Alst. “We have a few more spaces available on our car, and I’d love to add a few more local companies to our race car, which will truly make us a fan favorite. I have a feeling that the atmosphere will be explosive and the racing will be spectacular. I’d love to have more companies be a part of one of the most highly anticipated races of the weekend.”
Van Alst though won’t just be navigating the NASCAR Xfinity Series next weekend. The Anderson, Ind. native will also compete in next Friday night’s ARCA Menards Series Circle City 200 at the famed Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park on July 19.
Entering the halfway point of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Van Alst is second in the championship standings with one top-five and four top-10 finishes. The seasoned veteran trails Andrés Pérez de Lara by 40 points.
“Next weekend is going to be busy, but it’s something I live for as a professional race car driver,” sounded Van Alst. “We’ll have two Greg Van Alst Motorsports cars at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park on Friday night. Once the ARCA race is complete, it is 100 percent focus on the Xfinity Series car for qualifying and the race on Saturday.”
