What’s Happening?

NASCAR fans finally have their first in-depth look at the career mode for iRacing’s NASCAR console game, NASCAR 25, including a glimpse at the game’s paint booth, thanks to a new YouTube video.

Although the game is set to release next Tuesday, with early access opening on Friday, NASCAR fans have yet to see any detailed previews of the game’s in-depth career mode.

Well, with just a few days left, the wait is finally over, as YouTuber Jeff Favignano has uploaded almost an hour of career mode footage and a look at some other highly requested features.

Before this video, it was well known that the career mode featured an introduction via the ARCA Menards Series, though, for his video, Favignano kicked off his video already in the Xfinity Series.

This included a tour of the creation suite, showing off new features such as editing your car hauler, firesuit, and helmet. Career mode will differ from the regular paint booth, however, as Favignano explained that in career mode, you only have access to your contracted sponsors.

He also demonstrated that the paint booth enables players to modify key elements, such as toggling the colors of the Goodyear and OEM logos. However, it’s a disappointment that your team logo is limited to a preloaded set group in the game.

This upload showcased not just gameplay and editing but also explained in game currencies such as Reputation Points, something fans had been wondering about since the game’s pre-order bonuses were announced.

These points are what excel your career to the Cup Series level, with players earning them through on-track performance and off-track moments such as “PR Moments.” Favignano also explained Work Points, which are essentially hours that your team has to work on cars between races. This included deciding whether to repair and prep cars for a couple of weeks down the road or focus on the coming week.

Of course, there is also the financial aspect of the career mode to consider. However, this video didn’t delve into team finances outside sponsorship payouts, hiring employees, and purchasing upgraded parts to enhance your car’s Performance Rating, which factors into how good or bad your car is compared to your competitors.

Beyond the key gameplay functions of the Career mode, one early takeaway is the ambiance of the shop in Career mode, which sounds alive rather than featuring basic sounds or the game’s soundtrack playing in the background.

While this video showcases career mode, it is still interesting that iRacing has yet to release footage of online play or an in-depth look at the creation suite itself. However, Favignano notes that iRacing plans to release an introduction to the paint booth soon.

NASCAR ’25 is set to release on October 14 for PS5 and XBOX Series X/S, with a PC release via Steam set for November 11. For any and all information, including timelines, promotional videos, and in-game info, make sure to check out our in-depth article on NASCAR ’25 below.
