What’s Happening?

In his latest video, Garrett Mitchell, better known by his screen name Cleetus McFarland, puts NASCAR Hall-of-Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr behind the wheel of the infamous Dale Truck at Talladega.

  • YouTuber and part-time ARCA Menards Series driver Garrett Mitchell met up with Earnhardt at Talladega to get the second-generation driver behind the wheel of this truck. The two previously got together for the Feb. 19 episode of the Dale Jr Download.
  • This episode was a hit and is currently the third most watched on the Dirty Mo Media YouTube Channel. During that episode of the podcast, Mitchell revealed that he would race at Talladega in the Apr. 26 ARCA Menards Series race. In Friday’s video, a significant portion shows Earnhardt giving the rookie driver pointers for racing at Talladega.
  • Afterward, Earnhardt suited up to take a pass in the “Dale Truck,” a converted drag racing truck based on a 1990s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series truck with a Dale Earnhardt Sr.-inspired paint scheme. Earnhardt did some impressive burnouts but may have lifted off the throttle a little too early during his drag runs down the Talladega Superstretch.
  • This video seems to be the start of a growing relationship between the two. Mitchell mentions at the end that a concurrent upload will soon be coming to the Dirty Mo Media YouTube Channel. Though an outsider, Mitchell currently plays an important role in the sport, as his popularity helps bring new eyes to the sport’s lower levels.
