- The Pigeon Forge Racing Coaster, located in Pigeon Forge, TN, is unique in its genre of attraction as it is a side-by-side alpine racing coaster with high speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. The coaster uses gravity and braking to pit riders against one another in timed races, bringing a new, competitive twist to the world of alpine coasters.
- In a statement released by McLeod, the long-time NASCAR driver stated, “My wife Jessica and I started coming to Pigeon Forge several years ago and we were blown away by the culture of entertainment and family fun. When our partner Teddy presented the idea to build a competition-themed alpine coaster, we were all in, since racing is everything in our family.”
- The coaster, located between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN, is open from 10 a.m. to midnight. Riders interested in taking part in the action must be 16 years or older and at least 56 inches tall to drive, and passengers on the coaster must be three years or older and at least 38 inches tall. For more information, make sure to visit the Pigeon Forge Racing Coaster website.
- NASCAR fans may recognize the coaster’s name as it graced the hood of McLeod’s Live Fast Motorsports Chevrolet at Talladega Superspeedway. So far this year, McLeod’s independent team has entered just five races, and it plans to race more as the season rolls on.
