Trucks: Layne Riggs Does it for Kyle; Wins at Charlotte

What’s Happening?

Heading into today’s race, we knew that Layne Riggs had another bad fast truck. He lead a lop in the opening stage only to finish 3rd in a crazy finish. Then, in true Kyle Busch style, he went on to dominate the second stage. Though it didn’t end how we all wanted it to end as NASCAR deemed that the race be finished by noon, Layne Riggs did his due diligence to carry yet another eulogy to our fallen hero, Kyle Busch. Layne Riggs wins the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Race Report

• Christian Eckes wins stage 1 after taking over the race lead from Layne Riggs on Lap 15.
• The following drivers earned points at the conclusion of Stage 1: Christian Eckes (10), Layne Riggs (8), Grant Enfinger (7), Kaden Honeycutt (6), Jake Garcia (2), and Dawson Sutton (1).
• In the second stage, Layne Riggs reassumed the race lead and went on to win the stage in dominant, Rowdy fashion.
• These drivers earned stage points in Stage 2: Layne Riggs (10), Christian Eckes (9), Daniel Hemric (7), Kaden Hoenycutt (5), Stewart Friesen (4), Ben Rhodes (3), Jake Garcia (2), and Tyler Ankrum (1).
• Christian Eckes clocks the Xfinity Fastest Lap. As a result, he is awarded an additional bonus point to be added to his daily total.
• Layne Riggs wins the time-shortened event. It marks his 7th career race.
